Ever wondered what your tax preparer does after Tax Day? Well, here at Village Accounting this is the time of year to get ready for next tax season, and there are three areas of focus for 2023.
- Redesign our Website – Our prior web hosting platform decided to merge with Wix and the porting of the template looked like garbage! After a bit of research, we choose WordPress and one of their templates to present Village Accounting to the world. Stay tuned for some improvements (a cleaner look and easier to read) and additions (direct Portal access and more Info Time posts) as we explore all the wonderful options our new host provides.
- New tools – As the Village has grown, the need for some helpful tools has grown with it. So research and design of several new tools to make Tax-time easier and more efficient for our clients and for us became a priority. Greater efficiency means we can provide better, faster service without increasing our fees, and hopefully give all of the Village a little more time to enjoy family and other pursuits.
- Continuing Education – While the kids were on summer break, Barb was taking classes and doings lots of reading. Keeping up with changes in the tax law is always a high priority, and this year we also began exploring several new topics (hello – AI) and gaining a greater depth of knowledge in topics most seen by our Villagers.
